I am running Evolution 3.38.3-1 on Debian Bullseye. I have encountered a situation where the "Archive" message function (Ctrl- Alt-A) does not work as I would expect.
My setup is: * I have three IMAP mail accounts which seem to be working properly. * I have a search folder called "virtual inbox" which matches any message from the three IMAP inboxes, so I can see all inboxes in one merged list. * I have a local archive mailbox called "archive" (under "On This Computer"). It is correctly set up via Edit / Preferences / Mail Preferences / Archive Mail. If I navigate to one of the three individual inboxes, and then select a message, I can successfully archive the message via Ctrl-Alt-A. If I navigate to one of the three individual inboxes, and then use the search bar (Alt-C) to filter the messages, and then select a message, I can still successfully archive the message via Ctrl-Alt-A. If I navigate to the "virtual inbox" search folder, and then select a message, I can successfully archive the message via Ctrl-Alt-A. However, if I navigate to the "virtual inbox" search folder, and then use the search bar (Alt-C) to filter the messages, and then select a message, then I CANNOT archive the message. Ctrl-Alt-A does not do anything, and the menu item "Archive..." on the Message menu is greyed out. So the issue only seems to occur when (a) I am in a search folder, AND (b) I am using the search bar. Is this expected behaviour? I would have thought it still makes sense to archive a message in the situation I have described. In fact, this is a very common workflow for me (I just migrated from Thunderbird and used to do this all the time). many thanks D _______________________________________________ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
