Pity, Evolution looks great! I agree, it's pity. Yours 3.28.5 is basically ancient, you might get more luck with the recent stable (otherwise nobody could use it, right?). You can try, as a workaround, configure the account through GNOME Online Accounts (if the version provided by your distribution supports IMAP accounts), or, if you did it before, then configure it directly in Evolution. It can change things.
