I have enabled IMAP in my gmail account. All that was involved there was going into "settings" and selecting "enable IMAP". I am guessing this is what is meant by "configure your Gmail account for IMAP", right? 2. You have then instructed to "set it up in Evo as an IMAP account". I see in the account settings of evo, under "receiving mail", one can change it from POP to IMAP. The full settings which I found in the gmail help pages are below, at the *. Please confirm this is what is needed. 3. You have instructed-- "then move your mail across"-- "move your mail from the old Evo into an IMAP account (using drag and drop or ImapSync)" I went to the ImapSync website, but it looks like one has to purchase that for 50 Euros. So I thought I would try the drag and drop. But I still don't understand where in the gmail account I am supposed to drag the mail to. You already instructed that it is not the actual gmail account itself. Please let me know exactly where using the drag and drop, I am to place all the mail folders. Looking forward to your further guidance. Thanks, Swarup *Settomg up Evo as an IMAP account (settings from gmail Help page) Many clients will automatically configure the appropriate IMAP connection settings for your account, but confirm that the connection settings your client configures are the same as what's listed below. If you're using a client that's not listed above, you can also use the following information to configure your IMAP. If you have problems, contact your mail client's customer support department for further instructions. * Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL * imap.gmail.com * Port: 993 * Requires SSL:Yes * Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires TLS * smtp.gmail.com * Port: 465 or 587 * Requires SSL: Yes * Requires authentication: Yes * Use same settings as incoming mail server * Full Name or Display Name: [your name] * Account Name or User Name: your full Gmail address (usern...@gmail.com). Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com * Email address: your full Gmail address (usern...@gmail.com) Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com * Password: your Gmail password If your client does not support SMTP authentication, you won't be able to send mail through your client using your Gmail address. Also, if you're having trouble sending mail but you've confirmed that encryption is active for SMTP in your mail client, try to configure your SMTP server on a different port: 465 or 587. _______________________________________________ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
