I just started up the import command (in my current user account) to see
how the import command works. It asks whether I want to "import data and
settings from older programs", or "import a single file".

First I tried "import a single file", but the accepted file types
include only Berkeley Mailbox (mbox), Evolution CSV or Tab (.csv, tab.),
Mozilla CSV or tab, Outlook CSV or tab, vcard (.vcf, .gcrd), LDAP data
interchange formate (ldif). So the ".tar.gz" format is not listed, and
it did not want to allow me to select this backup file. If I open the
backup file I've made using Archive, I get the folder ".evolution",
which it doesn't seem to want either.

And if I select the former option, it says it is looking for Pine,
Netscape, Elm, iCalender and could not find any of those.

So is the file type "evolution-backup.tar.gz" not an importable file
type? Would I need to convert this to another file type, such as vcard
or something?

Thanks,
Swarup
