Hi :)
A lot of people stay with the LTS releases and so will be staying with the
12.04 for a few years.  Some might upgrade to the 14.04 at the end of April
2014 but many others will be sticking with the 12.04 for another 2 years after
that.

Like it or not Ubuntu is a popular "gateway distro" used by quite a lot of
people.  Some do then move on to other distros but others return to it.

So, if there is something we could do to make it easier for people to use
Evolution in Ubuntu LTSes then it might

1.  reduce the number of confused and unhelpful questions on this list

2.  increase the number of people using Evolution

I'm just not sure that the Evo team wants to do either

Wrt top-posting, the vast majority of people use top-posting almost exclusively
and have no idea it's even possible to do anything else so they don't even
scroll down threads to find answers and just assume there has been some sort of
mistake.  Most people getting a bottom-post reply will just delete the mail
without thinking about it.

However, OpenSource geeks are often adamant about bottom-posting and only
occasionally wonder why no-one takes any notice of them.

Neither side is willing to compromise and both are heavily committed to their
way by their infrastructure.  Those of us stuck between those 2 worlds just
have to find some way to keep switching between these incompatible view points.

Btw Google, Bing and Duck-Duck-Go are all internet search engines = just in
case anyone reading this thread in the archives got confused by the reference
to Ducks.

Regards from
Tom :)
