*OK i**f you like, but I'm surprised you suggest that because it just makes
my job easier because there are no doors I need to worry about, there are
no observable consequences that differ between the car fitting and the car
not fitting. *

*And that opinion, I believe, is the root cause of all your confusion. I
like the idea a lot but I admit it's conceivable that Many Worlds is wrong,
however it's inconceivable that you're right in this case. *

*But how do you even define "measure" if, as you say, simultaneity has
nothing to do with it? Suppose you want to check to see if the claim the
car is 12 feet long is really true and you happen to have a 12 foot long
measuring stick, what do you do? You check to see if it's possible for you
to place the front of your measuring stick so it's even with the front of
the car while SIMULTANEOUSLY placeing the other end of the stick so it's
even with the back of the car. If you omit the "simultaneously" part then
you could erroneously concluded everything was 12 feet long; I could easily
place the front end of my measuring stick so it's even with the front of a
supertanker and place the other end of the stick so it's even with the end
of a supertanker (provided I do NOT do those two things simultaneously) and
conclude that the giant supertanker was only 12 feet long. *

*Einstein taught us in 1905 that if you don't take frame of reference into
account then length is ambiguous, and time duration is ambiguous, and speed
is ambiguous, and simultaneity is ambiguous, so it's not surprising that
fitting is ambiguous too. *
