How does your library manage items that leave the library for temporary
events?

We are beginning to bring a small collection to our local farmers market
for patrons to checkout. Our current workflow is to checkout the items to a
staff member because there aren't very many items. We then  I'm also
considering a separate shelving location or status. Any pros and cons to
share?
