We are in the process of re-applying penalty thresholds after suspending them due to COVID, and I thought this thread would be a good opportunity to bring attention to a few related bugs we've come across:
- #1823225 Web client has no way to recalculate patron penalties <https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1823225> This bug is an issue when thresholds are changed, and is important in relation to Erica's comment that modifications to thresholds aren't retroactive. - #1890822 PATRON_EXCEEDS_OVERDUE_COUNT threshold still allows one checkout <https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1890822> Related to 1823225, a checkout will recalculate penalties, but it takes that one successful checkout to make that happen. - #1464756 penalty threshold only applies to bills created by that org unit <https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1464756> This bug applies to the situation Benjamin and Jessica described where penalties at one library don't show at another. - #1944986 Support Script to Update Patron Penalties Needed <https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1944986> A support script would make changing thresholds much easier in that new thresholds could be applied fairly to all patrons. - #1950824 Prevent editing system-generated penalties <https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1950824> This one is problematic in many ways, especially in light of 1823225.
