How is the beam pattern with these? I looked into LED conversion bulbs about 5-6 years ago. After doing some research, I learned that all of them trashed the vertical cutoff so that oncoming drivers were easily blinded,.
I don't remember where I saw this now, but there was a web page showing an LED bulb converted headlight shining on a wall, compared to the same headlight with an incandescent bulb. The pattern with the LED was severely messed up - no clean cutoff, lots of diffuse scatter. The problem was that the LEDs didn't produce light in the same pattern as an incandescent filament, which is what the headlight reflector and lens were designed for. I considered a higher wattage incandescent (ahem, "for offroad use only") but was worried about damaging the headlight housing from the heat. In the end I stayed with stock H4 lamps. Have the LED conversion units improved that much since then? It's not a problem for us now, because the Zoe has quite good LED factory headlights (height-adjustable). I'm just curious.
