That's really good to hear. Those relatively small engines are, I think,
unregulated and produce a lot of pollution, PM2.5, and noise.

These vehicles are so big that I imagine the penalty for carying around a
relatively
small gas engine and fuel tank is minimal.
Interestingly enough, one of my recent jobs was supplying J1772 Inlets with 6m
of
10AWG cord to a company that used service trucks. It was to replace the small
gas/diesel engine/generator that the service trucks used to power their
hydraulic
pump, air compressors etc when they were parked and doing a repair job on site.
The company realized that buying a lithium battery pack and using it instead of
a
gas /diesel engine/generator was more cost effective. They charge up when the
trucks are driven back to the garage. Which also means that the company has had
to
install a charging system at some cost.
The initial order was for 20 units, since then I've received repeat orders for a
total of 100 units, so at least one company that uses service trucks sees the
cost
benefit of NOT having a ' small gas engine and fuel tank'.
Best regards,
Rush Dougherty
