Their new factory being build in Mexico will be using a new
manufacturing technique that looks like it will significantly reduce the
cost to build the car. This is planned to be a lower-cost Tesla, and
will be produced in very large quantities.

about as unpredictable as you can imagine. Further, just because they
have pursued the luxury market doesn't imply that's their long term
trajectory. Now that they have their manufacturing process well
established, they very well may be able to make a low cost car,
competitive with the Chinese (and presumably better quality).
