I need some help with the Orion BMS. I finished getting everything wired up on the car, did one last check on the pin out of the cell tap leads and plugged `em in. Powered up fine, had to download a driver for my mother in law´s computer (I don´t own any Microsoft stuff) to get it talking with the BMS but it´s communicating nicely now. The problem is it only detects 46 of my 58 cells. The bms was delivered with 24 leads for the front pack where I have the first 22 batteries and 36 for the rear set in the trunk of the car. Front ones were detected but it´s missing one set of 12 from the rear pack. I checked the pin outs again and they´re all correct. Tried plugging it in again and it´s still just detecting 24 of the rear 36. When I started the installation I began with cell 23, the negative most cell in the rear pack. I had the harness hanging from the port of the bms, not fully inserted just stuck in there far enough to be able to check for proper lead length. Front and rear boxes were not connected together and the bms was not powered up. After connecting the first couple leads I realized the plug was still hanging from the bms box. I pulled it from the socket and tied it up nearby to keep it safely out of the way while connecting up the rest of the leads. Is it possible that it made connection with the bms even though it wasn´t fully inserted? Could it have blown one of those internal fuses I read about in the paperwork? I mean nothing was connected or powered up at the time but was loosely placed in the socket while I connected the first lead or two. I can´t see any other reason for a full set of 12 cells to be missing. I´ve triple checked the cell tap leads and all is well. I tried to manually populate 58 cells in the software but it gave a fault when I did that. I appreciate your help,Russell _______ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/solectria/help/index.html#usub ARCHIVE: http://www.evdl.org/solectria/archive/index.html INFO: http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/solectria-evdl.org Solectria Owner Support is not affiliated with Solectria Renewables LLC or Yaskawa Solectria Solar.
