VW certainly has a good opportunity to surpass tesla. The tesla prices
have gone up by about 20% since last year. I don't know how long the
wait is. One good deal, now, is GM's Bolt. It has it's issues but I
think it's well designed. All VW has to do is produce a quality EV at at
tesla's old price and I'll bet they can sell them as fast as they can
produce them.
VW is planning a whole bunch of EV models. If they can really get them
on the market quickly, the effect will be impressive.

Interesting that VW is apparently building its battery factories in Europe
and the US, not in China. Given the unstable world political and military
situation, that might be a smart move.
Tesla seems to have bet more heavily on China. I've read recently that
Tesla are supposedly working a battery deal with BYD, which have themselves
been seeing triple-digit year-on-year sales gains.
I think I've also read that an increasing proportion of the EVs Tesla sells
in Europe are shipped in from China.
