Honestly, I don't think I would want regen on a bike. If it locks your
wheel on wet pavement or a patch of rotting leaves, you'll go down. Or,
even possibly on dry pavement in some cases.
I suppose you could have an override, but I'm not sure how you could add
another control that is quickly accessible in an emergency.

It seems the only restriction to regen on a mid drive electric bike system is a
locking derailleur. If there were such a thing then that would make it possible
to have regen ...however is the derailleur itself able to be made strong enough
