The Stella Lux has less than 6 square meters of PV, and the Stella Vie has
less than 5 square meters. They're a fascinating dream, but I can't see
them as commercially viable vehicles.

Same said of Tesla. They figured out the engineering.
The Lightyear is closer to viable. In fact, it's supposed to go on sale
later this year.
Viable? For the rich.
You can't put a Lightyear on a sunny road and drive it at 65mph without
ever plugging it in. Its PV is strictly for range extension.
But the Stella vehicles can do 45 mph infinitely. They only have to be
plugged in for trips longer than 600 miles, but not under normal daily use.

all you Negative Nellie's.
I'm with Lawrence. It reminds me of this quote: "First they ignore you;
then they mock you; then they fight you; then you win." -- Mahatma Gandhi.
The negative Nellies may be right in the short run; but not in the long run.
Think about the bicycle. What an absurd vehicle! Slow, limited range, no
air bags, no seat belts, no cupholders, no heater, no air
conditioning... you even get wet when it rains!
And yet, millions of people use them for transportation every day. I
suspect that Ebikes also have a bigger percentage of the bike market
than electric cars do of the car market.
People don't like moving down to something that is more limited than
what they have now. Rather than cars "moving down" into Stellas or
Lightyears, it could well be that bicycles will "grow up" into them.
