Pay $1000 for shipping and it's yours.
I propose Lee make a deal on a remote Bolt and spend the shipping money
on an airplane ticket. Then, give us an account of the trip home.
That's a great idea, Willie! I'd do it. :-)
Though I have a 2013 Leaf already, and it's been great for our local
driving. At some point, I'll replace it. I'm hoping by then, there will
be many better options.
I also have a 2014 plug-in Prius. I bought it a couple years ago in
Massachusetts, because they aren't available here. I took the train out,
and drove it back.
A side story about trying to get it from another state: We found the car
online. My wife's brother lives in MA, so he test-drove it for us. The
report was good, so we sent the dealer a check. Her brother signed for
the car, to get the plates and registration so it could be driven. But
my wife's name and signature was also on all the papers.
The MA motor vehicle bureau said you can't have an out-of-state person
on the title; so the dealer took her name off, and re-submitted it. Now
the car was titled and registered in HIS name.
When I got the car, we tried to re-title it in my wife's name. MA
wouldn't do it. MN wouldn't do it. We had to pay the registration,
taxes, and vehicle transfer fees AGAIN to buy the car from her brother.
