Personal opinion only: It looks to me like GM and Ford know how to build electric cars, they just don’t seem to have any idea how to sell them. As long as they only see EVs as a threat to existing ICE auto sales, they won’t bother to properly market them. For the most part, dealers pretty much don’t seem to want them around at all. Automakers build cars the dealers want, then the dealers sell them to the public. Tesla works without this “filter”. Unfortunately, dealer agreements probably mean GM and Ford can’t do this.
