Nissan Leaf ‘Ride and Drive Course,’ Rising Music Star Highlight Newest
Attractions at Houston’s Largest Energy Festival

HOUSTON -- oCT. 8, 2015: Those looking to jump behind the wheel of one of
America’s best-selling electric cars – or catch a glance of one of country
music’s rising stars – will get a chance to do so on Saturday, October 17th,
at Houston’s 5th annual Energy Day Festival.

“Energy Day is not only a fun, cost-free way for families to spend a
beautiful Saturday afternoon, but it also helps students get interested in
the types of classroom studies that will later lead to high-rewarding
careers, especially as our country’s energy sector continues to experience
unprecedented growth”

Cohosted by Consumer Energy Alliance (CEA) and Consumer Energy Education
Foundation (CEEF), the all-day event – the largest of its kind in Houston –
will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sam Houston Park, 1000 Bagby St.,
in downtown Houston.

The tens of thousands expected to attend will ride the event’s newest
attraction – the Nissan Leaf ‘Ride and Drive Course’ – while listening to a
live performance by singer and songwriter Alyssa Bagley, a rising country
music star who has opened for Clay Walker, Josh Turner, Dirks Bentley, Gary
Allen, and Big and Rich and will be opening for Willie Nelson in November
2015.

Other must-see attractions for visitors include performing “petrochemical
magic tricks” with Lynn Hogue of Terrific Science – like making slime and
Shrinky Dinks out of petrochemicals – and seeing Subsea Tieback Foundation's
SEATIGER, a trailer- mounted tank and mini-Remote Operating Vehicle (ROV)
that provides an opportunity for students to experience hands on mini-ROV
technology. In all, more than 100 interactive exhibits and scientific
demonstrations showing on-going advancements and innovations in America’s
fast-growing energy sector will be on hand.

Houston’s annual Energy Day Festival helps spark students’ interest in
science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) – the basic
classroom skills the nation needs in order to continue its record-breaking
energy revolution and the affordable, reliable energy it has supplied to
millions of American families, farms, factories, and small businesses in
recent years.

“Energy Day is not only a fun, cost-free way for families to spend a
beautiful Saturday afternoon, but it also helps students get interested in
the types of classroom studies that will later lead to high-rewarding
careers, especially as our country’s energy sector continues to experience
unprecedented growth,” CEA President David Holt says. “All exhibitors and
demonstrations are very hands-on. Energy Day gives kids and their parents
experiences they can’t find every day. Experiments they can see and touch,
technology they can use to explore and understand the world a little better.
As the Energy Capital of the world, there’s no better way to celebrate
Houston than joining us at Energy Day!” ...
