Electric vehicles like a Chevrolet Volt and Nissan LEAF appeared recently at
a Drive Electric rally in Mandarin. It was held by the North Florida TPO,
the regional transportation planning agency for Clay, Duval, Nassau and St.
Johns counties, and its Clean Fuels Coalition. Vehicles like this will be at
the Feb. 19 Florida Alternative Fuels Expo at UNF

A display and discussion of vehicles powered by batteries and other sources
will be held when the Florida Alternative Fuels Expo rolls into town from
8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the University of North
Florida’s Adam W. Herbert University Center at 12000 Alumni Drive in
Jacksonville.

Presented by the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization, the
free event includes information on Northeast Florida’s Alternative Fuels,
Vehicles and Infrastructure Master Plan as well as a new program that could
award a plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) charging station to a local business,
non-profit agency or government entity. Following a presentation from 9 to
10:30 a.m., a selection of alternatively-fueled vehicles will be on display.

Florida AFV Expo 2015
  Learn about fuels, vehicles and funding.  
This is a great opportunity to meet alternative fuel users and providers to
learn how they decided to switch to alternatives.  
HIghlights include:
*  The North Florida TPO will present the Alternative Fuels, Vehicles and
Infrastructure Master Plan, including projects selected and funding awarded.

*  The TPO and JEA will announce a program for local businesses, non-profit
agencies, and government entities in JEA’s service territory to apply for
the award of a plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) charging station. 

*  Leaders from Champion Brands and ThyssenKrupp Elevator will explain their
transitions to alternative fuels.
