Subject: EV Demand Response - backdoor solution

Unless I misunderstand this,.... This concept can bring demand response to
EV charging almost overnight without having to modify every charger in
America and every EV in America. It is simple… BMW pays drivers who allow
up to 1 hour differed charging during grid peaks, and utilities pay BMW.
Others MFRS can do this too....
Done.

This can implement demand-response under utility control by only
implementing it at the Manufacturer level (say 20 solutions) instead of
modifying 200,000 chargers, and 200,000 EV’s and having to come up with
agreed standards and implementation of V2G that will take a decade.

This is a great idea! Don’t know why I didn’t think of it before!

Rather than having to modify every charger in America to conform to utility
V2G protocols for charging control and metering (Great idea but will be
DECADES before it is out there) and every EV already sold and to be sold..…

Instead, simply have BMW, TESLA or GM or any other EV MFR that has direct
wireless remote control of their vehicles “system” implement the
charging/grid algorithm since they already have the REMOTE CHARGE CONTROL
system to the car.

Then the only finance negotiation is between the Utility and the Car MFR.
They agree on a charging hold-off, the utilty pays the car company and the
car company pays the car owner. DONE! Only 20 systems... No changes to any
chargers or existing cars!

Wow, what a great way to get’er’done! Without waiting for a global V2G
system.

Instead of 200,000 solutions at every charger and 200,000 solutions on every
EV, just 20 solutions, one at BMW, TESLA, GM, VW and so forth. Done.
