Answering your questions.

1 Is this serious advice or just light-hearted?
For me, they are a little of both of them.

2 Do you agree that to be happy you just need to 'change your mind'?
I believe that these advices really help people to change their moods, but
it's sometimes hard to do. It's not easy to give a smile when things are
really bad, but training these things as many as possible, we can teach our
brain to heal itself faster.

3 Could the tips mentioned previously help someone who is seriously
depressed? Are any helpful?
In that case, I think this person would need specialized treatment.

4 Have you ever had to help a friend who was depressed?
Fortunately, none of my close friends or relatives got depressed. Since that
I know.

By the way, I've never heard about these syndromes. Could you tell us
something about them?
