Hi,

I have another approach to this question. I think before answering this
question we should understand clearly about the concept "advertising".
According to the definition in dictionary, advertising refers to the
business of trying to persuade people to buy products or services by
introducing these products or services in very interesting, attractive and
impressive ways. Thus, depending on the products, services and the ways in
which they're introduced, we could evaluate how much the advertising tells
us about a country. If the service is something related to tourism industry,
I believe that it tells us a lot about that country. It's because promoting
their services also means promoting special places in their country, which
often represent characteristics of the country. In contrast, If the products
or services are ordinary like shampoo or beer, it, of course, also tells
about the taste of people in the country, however it's not much. Therefore,
I personally think that advertising can tell us about a country, but the
degree depends on the products or services being advertised.

Regards,
Nam
