'[email protected]' does appear to be the 'id' in its manifest.json - so 
'[email protected]' _should_ work ...

However, I've only ever used centrally installed extensions with Firefox ESR ...

No, no UUID in manifest file.

There's no META-INF folder in extensions.


Also, if i install 'personally' the extensions (eg, with my yser, in
user folder) they are written as '[email protected]'.
