Are any of you using the CCK2 with site overrides for certificates
(Certificates->Overrides)?
I did fix a bug that was causing slow startup:

https://github.com/mkaply/cck2wizard/commit/7fc782887a00400eb856490578eca9fd5c969232
It was in version 2.2.3 of the CCK.

Hi Rob,

maybe same situation here at our facility. Performance is poor especially on
newly started Firefox sessions. With multiple tabs open all of them are waiting
about 20 to 30 seconds until the content is displayed. Sometimes the issue is
during the session. There is a Barracuda proxy instead of Checkpoint. First
impression was also a https issue but now I’m searching on proxy
authentication. I also see slow http pages.
Tried to change Firefox proxy definition to system proxy or using system store
certificates instead of Mozilla ones. Seems to help for some users but not all.

Do you use SSL inspection on your Checkpoint proxy? I can confirm Sebastian
“Google redirect issue”. This is the easiest way to test (empty cache is
important).

Hello Rob,

we seem to have a simliar problem. But we assume it is not ff specific and it
doesn't matter how the proxy-config in ff was set - directly or trough IE
setting.

We also use Checkpoint.
The "slow" internet problems seems to only affect http-requests which are
redirected to https.
E.g. you type http://google.de and google redirects to https://www.google.de
The problem only occurs first time after the client boots and is therefore hard
to identify. It takes up to 20secs until page shows up.

I did a wireshark recording and found some strange traffic. But I'm not a
specialist in reading such logs. ;-)

Our Checkpoint admins couldn't find anything until now.

Best regards

Hi Guys,

I have been informed of a problem within our environment whereby if Firefox
(currently ESR 45.6), is set to use System Proxy then browsing is slow, but if
you set the proxy server/exceptions manually then it's fine.

Proxy server and exceptions are controlled in IE via GPO and service desk staff
are manually setting the proxy to the same settings as in IE.

This is a strange one as it doesn’t happen for everyone. We have a network team
who manage the Checkpoint Proxy servers and they said it's not their problem.
So I’m having problems explaining this one. Only happens in certain locations
which is why I thought it was the proxy server. I, for example, am unable to
reproduce this issue. This has been going on for a number of weeks evidently
but I’ve only just been informed. I asked what’s changed and in one location a
new Proxy server has been introduced! But it doesn’t explain other locations
issue.

We moved to “System Proxy” settings so we could use a proxy switcher and then
controlled both browsers seamlessly.

Has anyone come across anything similar with poor performance when using
“System Proxy”?

Thanks
Rob
