NPAPI plugins and XUL addons have each been on notice for over a year.
Mozilla first announced deprecation for plugins in October 2015[1] and
for XUL addons in August 2015[2]. Developers have had plenty of time to
fix their software to not require plugins.

Mozilla has created a huge mess.
EOL for Plugins:
- Firefox 52 now, except you can re-enable it.
- Firefox 53 in approx 5 weeks, and you cannot re-enable it.
- Firefox 52 ESR in February 2018
But Selenium is not a plugin, it is an Add-on.
However there is also an EOL for Add-ons. Except that for Add-ons it depends on
whether it is a XUL add-on or a Webextension. Webextensions do not have an EOL.
Selenium is a XUL add-on.
EOL for XUL Add-Ons:
- Firefox 57 in November 2017
- Firefox 52 ESR in February 2018
Log story short: everybody should immediately switch to ESR.
