Hi Longina, If you are running Ubuntu 12.04 you have to set NSS_SSL_CBC_RANDOM_IV to 0 before starting Pidgin: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin/+bug/950790
and you also have to install the pidgin-sipe package.
