I normally get my boards from https://www.mini-itx.com/products/boards If you look there you will find that nothing they list has a full-size PCI slot. An option to re-use the 5i20 might be a PCIe x1 to PCI converter, however I would suggest that it might be hard to find a reliable supply. The 6i24 is pretty much a drop-in replacement for the 5i20, except it is PCIe and a _lot_ cheaper. However it might well be more future-proof to use a Pi or MiniPC and the 7i80HDT Ethernet board. https://store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=83_85&product_id=386 This should work with the existing daughter boards. The PI5 gives fair, but not stellar, realtime performance. The only advantage is that you know that is what you will get, whereas it is a bit of a lottery with an unknown mini-PC. I have had fair results with the Asrock N100DC-ITX but chose that for reasons orthogonal to your requirements (ie, running off 12VDC, having a PCIe slot) and they are very fussy about memory.
