If it is, then there is a hint that it might not be LinuxCNC at 7:01,
as it suggests bug reports to hankecnc
Probably: https://github.com/hankecnc
Though the preview looks very LinuxCNC.
Since he is speaking russian
Out of lipsynch but now English in what I see here.
and I could not get any subtitles, I
suspect that vast majority of list members will not understand anything, here
are main points that I noticed:
At 4:04 the guy says: "based on description, it should have LinuxCNC inside"
At 14:30 docs show that g-code must comply with LinuxCNC standards
At 19:10 he says this is much better than Mach - he is happy about
step pulse duration and how stable it is
At 20:07 he says that he did a little reading and research - main
board is running ARM and that I/O board has STM chip running Remora
It bothers me that he uses "linuxcnc" so loosely, making me wonder if
there might be grounds for copyright violations action. I''d certainly
give it some thought although I have no clue who in our group might have
standing to initiate the action. I am very happy with how an rpi4b,
coupled with nearly $300 worth of PCW's interface stuff runs my 11x56
Sheldon, doing with 2 stepper/servo motors, stuff the original full
blown but all mechanical machine could not do in its wildest configuration.
Gcode means setup for the next cut can be done at 100mm/sec or more
rapids. What's not to like where time spent doing the job determines
profit, or loss of shirt?
I'm not a for profit operation, just hobby, but I can sure see the
advantages once the gcode is written. And the difference in the
electrical bill is substantial, that pi and its monitor draw about 25
watts sitting idle, the other 3 machines are all old Dell's, drawing
around 300 watts sitting idle with the machines powered down. That
difference has me considering redoing the dells with banana-pi-m5's if
PCW can still supply the 3 7i90HD's and the 9 7i42TA's it would take to
redo them in pi clones running full desktop armbian.
However at my present age of 90 & 40 years a diabetic, statistically I
doubt if I'd live long enough to show a profit. My legs are slowly going
away.
