If you already have the $20 BOB wired with the appropriate limit switches and 
wires why not just use the MESA 7i92H?  Then run a ribbon cable with the DB-25 
into your BOB and network cable into the other end of the 7i92H.  The only 
thing you will have to do is find the correct pin file to match your existing 
step/dir signals.  

Now if nothing exists and you want to add more stuff, then it may well be 
better to buy a 'package' which takes you from Ethernet Connector all the way 
down to screw terminal strips to connect to your hardware.

So far I've been able to do that and I can even swap back and forth between 
MACH3 and LinuxCNC just by moving the parallel port cable that goes to the BoB. 
 (PMDX-126).
