Whilst going through the slow process of cnc'ing my mill, I have been trying to work out how to cnc mill crankshafts on it using my rotary axis.
Specifically, machining the crankpins while having the blank turning on it's main journal axis. I know the tool will have to move in both y and z axis simultaneously to follow the crankpin around, but at that point, my imagination and knowledge fail me. Are there any pre-existing routines out there that can take (say) the crank throw and crankpin diameter and generate the relevant g code to do the job? Or any other suggestions as to how to achieve this? Thanks, Ken. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
