But that is 8 hours per part (if using lost-PLA) whereas my conventional pattern can be re-used. This thread seems to have drifted badly. I have made a pattern, the pattern is at the foundry. My question was how many parts I should have made. It would make little sense for anyone to use my design file rather than one optimised for their requirements, there is about 45 minutes of work in that model, irrelevant compared to printing, machining or pattern-making time. If you are interested in conventional pattern-making, then I have some friends who restore old vehicles and so a lot of it: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?13514-WW1-Thornycroft-restoration&p=486322#post486322 For example. -- atp "A motorcycle is a bicycle with a pandemonium attachment and is designed for the especial use of mechanical geniuses, daredevils and lunatics." — George Fitch, Atlanta Constitution Newspaper, 1916 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
