I thought you had lathe and mill at hand, Gene? > Peter I do Peter, but its rather hard to carve on the lathe when its apart. :) And centering the rotary table to itself on the mill simply can't be done on a hundred dollar table without a morse reamed center. You don't get that on a 4" table anyway, I have looked. Actually, it appears I'll have to put it back together with the old screw yet, driven by a plastic version of the 80 tooth metal one, just to carve a taper lock hub assembly for the metal one, the next step in this bit of time sink. That in itself might be a trick as the plastic 80 toother's hub is about wobbled out, the 3mm keyway slot is about 5mm wider than new right now. I can see the irony though, quite well. :) Much easier to do if I could buy just the single gear I need, but the whole set is something north of a 100 dollar bill. I do have it together well enough I can start carving the ball nut cage, so that will probably be the next step. Lots of little fiddly things I need to clean up to make it all work as advertised yet. But I'll get there if I don't fall over first. :) > Am 28.01.2013 01:19, schrieb Gene Heskett: > > Greetings all; > > > > Does anyone know where I can order just a few, I need 3, of the above > > bolt without a $30 to $50 minimum order? > > > > The bearing blocks for this screw are machined only for socket head > > bolts, and normal 10mm hex heads do not leave room to get a wrench or > > socket on them to properly tighten them. > > > > Locally, there are no socket head metric bolts stocked at all.
