Yep, thats part of being on a mailing list. If you can't contribute to answering the posters question, delete it. A year from now you may know the answer and can then tell the next person who asks a similar question. Its just part of the give and take of a specialized mailing list like this one. You may also do as I do to nearly all the lists I'm on and set the email agents filtering to move the list postings to a folder, usually named for the list, and then set an expire time of 2 weeks or so, that way you can attempt to keep the size of the email corpus under control.
