So the ways should be delrin. I _think_ that is what I made my garage
windows from, and while its very tough stuff to cut, needing fresh from a
drill doctor drill bits and new carbide saw blades, it does cold flow!

Supposedly capable of stopping (or more likely, throwing it straight back
at the shooter) a 22LR bullet, it hasn't been tested that I know of. I
made frames to fit the opening between the studs, about 7/8" thick, gave
them 3 coats of Helmsman Spar Varnish, and then laid a bead of si calking
compound near the inside edge, laid a sheet of this stuff on the caulk
after drilling holes in the edges at about 2" intervals, screwed it down
with 3/4" #6 pan head screws in each hole, then turned it over and laid
another sheet on the other side for a thermopane like construction. With
6" walls full of cocoon, and about a foot of it in the attic, my IR
thermometer can find them when its 0F outside, but a single 1500 watt, $20
heater will hold that garage at about 65F. One of the two has now been
replaced with an AC, an 8k btu that has held it to 74F for 2 summers now
unless the door is open for too long.

When I took one window out to put in the AC I was curious and loosened one
of the screws. The underside of the head has printed into that "delrin" a
good 10 thou in 3 years. That is however, a very concentrated load and I
doubt that would ever be matched in psi applied to a machine way loading.

Cheers, Gene
