If willing to do transmittence mode using slot type opto stuffs, there is 
code to do that which can be resized for nearly any diameter and resolution 
needed, size limited only by the available motion of the Y table on your 
mill.  The original wheel file I started with gave 1 degree resolution in a 
wheel about 6" in diameter IIRC.  See that one at:
