I put one on my gantry table and it works great. It's light, quiet and well made but best of all it has an electronic speed control with feedback via a magnetic encoder. And you can't beat the price especially if you can get a reconditioned one. Add a Precise bit collet and you have an excellent spindle for very little money. I plan on getting a second one so I can try to hack the electronics and enable software speed control. Unfortunately they have the circuit board encased in what looks like silicone so it will take a bit of surgery to get in there. Should be doable, though.
