The wonderful thing about standards is there is so many of them. 
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIN_rail gives an idea how many differently 
sized and shaped DIN rails have been defined.

I'm guessing you are thinking about the 35mm type-O rail.

Like Andy, I couldn't find an specification of the maximum module 
envelope using the usual search engines.

In my old job, the module envelope was limited only by the size of the 
rack we put the rails in. We could have hung modules so big they likely 
would have torn themselves off the rail.

You may be forced to make a best guess based on the modules and 
enclosures offered by other companies.
