Good evening group,
I know this may not sound like a big deal to most of you, but just think
back to when you had your first. ( get your mind out of the gutter...lol)
Now here is something to really chuckle about.
Dale, one of the members on the list here is a recent acquaintance and I'm
starting to consider him a friend. He's the one who turned me on to
EMC2. We'll touch base a couple times a week, at least. The last time we
talked was just before Thanksgiving and I had been tinkering with EMC2 for
about a week. Going through the users manual and trying to learn how to
figure out the lines of code and just how to put them together. So when I'm
talking to Dale, he asks, "Have you got the mill wired up yet ?" My answer
is "No, I'm still playing around with the users manual and trying to figure
out the way this goes together." Our talk was short because both of us were
getting busy with Thanksgiving stuff. So tonight, I decided to call cause I
had some questions, and Dale says, "You got that mill running yet?" Now, I'm
thinking man, I know he's really sharp on this stuff and all, and when it
comes to some of this stuff, I ain't the brightest bulb on the string. So I
said, " You know, I'm having trouble understanding just how to write this
code and how to put it all together in the right order and stuff." "I'm just
not getting it." Dales' kind of quite for a second and then says, "Have you
tried the Config Wizard?" "Yea, I initially went through it and answered
most of the question, but...." And then it hits me..."You mean to tell me
that the Wizard is the innerface that writes all that code for you?" "Awww,
dude, I thought I was going to have to write all those lines myself..."
I about fell out of my chair and I swore Dale picked himself up off the
floor twice....laughing so hard.
I told ya...somethings just go right over my head and the Wizard was one of
them.
But now it's even funnier that I got signals out of the port.
Ordering a breakout board tomorrow.

I really don't mind being laughed at so much, just make sure you tell me
about it so I can laugh too....

Good night,
Martin
