Gentlemen, There is a lot to be said for solitude. I complained about not be able to get the fourth linear axis working. Yesterday, Saturday, with no one at the shop but me I was able to start the machine check out a few things - halcmd show and halmeter setp the Pgain the 4th axis is now working I made no changes to the ini or hal files to get the direction correct I had to change the scales' signs As I get older is seems the distractions are more distracting. Sometimes I need a cocoon. :) Last week on Ebay I found a read head for the Y axis scale. I will go to Lawton Oklahoma next week to get it installed. To get the W axis encoder working I removed the encoder and connected it direct to the ppmc board. It worked there. I then connected it to the machine side of the terminal strip in the cabinet. It worked there. I then reconnected it at the motor. Now it worked there. I think maybe the machine side of the terminal strip in the cabinet was not correct. I think the 0 volt wire had the wire folded back against the insulation and was not making contact under the screw and when I reconnected the wires I was able to fix the problem. I am able to MDI some motion. I like touchy a lot. Mucho thanks cradek. I haven't run a program in auto yet. The Y axis brake is still sticking. I think a transformer is bad. It is suppose to have 90V to unclamp. It only has 52V. I should find out tomorrow. We had to fix one of the hydrostatic way bladders again. Not bad considering we fixed 4 leaking bladders and only had one still leak with 500 psi on it. I have a regular MPG I will use to replace the elcheepo ones on the control now. With touchy I only need one. sweet A little progress. I am happy. Incredible software. Incredible support. thanks Stuart
