We will have PCI express versions of Anything I/O cards later this year (I'm
playing with one now (144 I/O pins 2M gate FPGA), but HostMot2 driver support
and firmware changes will probably extend the EMC support time frame to the
end of this year. This is because DMA will be required for good performance
with our PCIe cards, and both the driver and my firmware need to be updated to
support DMA.

That said, I would not worry too much about PCI dissapearing, I expect
Motheboards with PCI to be available for at least 5 more years (PCI-PCIe are
trivial to translate). Because of this ease and transparancy of PCI-PCIe
translation, there will also be low cost mezzanine cards that allow
a few PCI cards to plug into a PCIe slot.
