OK, and at wich part of "I DONT WRITE ANYTHING ON COMMAND LINE" can't
you understand?
The error comes when using the files posted by Ted Hyde that were
working for him, i have posted the .hal file, and the error message
complete!

OK, i didn't say i'm an experienced linux user... i just said recenly
that i use it on a daily basis and i clearify from the first message
that i'm not an advanced user and i don't know even the directions to
follow for a cvs compile and that stuff.

bad character and realtime delay is what emc2 puts on screen (on a
window with an accept button) when starting EMC2 using a suppossedly
working sample config that Peter told me he tryed and worked on his machine.

And the failure to load firmware, was what they (Peter and Sebastian)
said when having the error "unknown command" if i use the files that Ted
Hyde has passed medirectly.
That was the reason by wich they suggested me to upgrade to 2.2.8, and i
keep receiving the same error... unknown command on the same line from
the same file... just equal as to when using 2.2.6.

My first message comes from september 9 this year.
And YES... every single time i have tryed this i got the same error, i
have pastebin it and everytime i received something like this:

That's exactly what i have posted on pastebin several times.

Because there was when Ted Hyde appeared telling he tested the same
board on similar hardware, and then i just, thought... hey, this people
is having a good attitude, should i answer the same way?.... ok, i'll
give it another try.

The error is exactly the same, over and over.... unknown comand line xx
as posted on the pastebin i made some time ago is always the same line,
same file, same error...

No John... i'm not wrong, i think you don't understand me.

I said..
1) when using Ted Hyde's files, i got the dmesg ending with "unknown
command line xx" always talking about the same line on the same file
every time the same since 2.2.6, then 2.2.7, and... now, 2.2.8
This was the error Peter and Sebastian said was because there is problem
on loading firmware, and, now, using 2.2.8 i repeat, i think there must
be something about the firmware load... this because when using the old
hostmot(1?) driver lights went off, then on in certaing order, but now,
using the Ted's files, lights don even go off, they just stay on.
When i power on the computer, lights go on... and they stay that way
even when starting EMC2.

Also i said,
2)that when using the sample provided with 2.2.8 install (also from Ted
but came with the program as a sample), there came the other two errors,
wich appeared on small windows with an accept button.
AND the lights go off, but they dont turn on again.

Two diferent scenarios, one with the files Ted provided me directly, and
the other using he sample files that come with 2.2.8.
