One option: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=D5S-4C&cat=SYS or eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ECS-KM400-M2-MOTHERBOARD_W0QQitemZ130263133103QQ I've had good luck with these KM400's > Does the PCI Parallel Port card have a faster I/O rate than the default > mother-board port? Similar to: http://members.shaw.ca/swstuff/spindle-encoder.html 12 slots or holes would give 48 counts per rev. At 3000 RPM or 50 RPS = 2.4k counts per second or 1.2kHz on each of two inputs (please double check). A parport should be able to handle this. I believe the above example uses 90 holes (9kHz), and the parport. > Thanks again > > John Kirk ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
