We humans are so good at identifying patterns that we sometimes identify them even when they aren't there. I think that's what's going on when you see that upper/lowercase, or windows based text files are causing a problem. > Also if I let the machine set idle for 5-10 min with no power on the > drives and > turn on the drives they will have the same resonance > If I toggle between MDI and Manual the resonance will stop > after 2 or three changes back and forth. > > Is there something wrong with my motherboard/M5i20 setup > It was a brand new ASUS motherboard a month ago. I am assuming you have servos if you have an m5i20. I do not know for sure what you mean by resonance but I think you might mean there is oscillation. If you are getting axis oscillation it probably just means your servo pid loops are badly tuned. To get any better guess, you will have to tell us a lot more about your mill and its configuration, your tuning process, etc. Chris ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
