We assume ( or hope.) such a load is acceptable even under transport, as long as a single fault in the battery circuit will not put the battery itself in a hazard condition. It is also a commercial condition set by many air carriers for the international 'gap' between airspaces, but each country has its own transportation regulations (some fully defer to IATA). In the US this is regulated by PHMSA (pipeline and hazardous materials safety administration). https://www.phmsa.dot.gov/regulations via <http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=1d49a3b137cb1b6fc45251074e634b44&t pl=/ecfrbrowse/Title49/49tab_02.tpl> Hazardous Materials Safety Regulations (Title 49 CFR Parts 100-185). * ICOA also 'competes' in this space, but I forget the difference between IATA and ICOA. Anyone who know if there are any specific requirements for testing or certification for such battery-products, which will be transported by air, train, ship, etc? Thanx!
