Org agenda searches (C-c a <m|s|/ etc) search across all files listed in org-agenda-files and org-agenda-text-search-extra-files See http://orgmode.org/worg/org-tutorials/advanced-searching.html for some great info on searching Another option is to use the shell, for example Find –name ‘*.org’ <documents directory’ | xargs grep <search string> (see man pages for more details)
