Thanks for the reminder! I had forgotten about the new version of ledger. Apologies for not checking it out as I had promised. It's been a very hectic time since Christmas... :( In any case, it turns out that ledger v2.6.2, which I believe is now in Debian stable, does allow the =-f -= argument despite the documentation not stating this.
