As for the view "everything-digital-is-better-than-everything-analogue", it would be good to look at Andy Hunt's Refactor your Wetware. Now Andy as the author of the pragmatic programmer, signatory of the agile alliance etc is hardly a luddite but he insists on the importance of handwriting. And of course orgmode promises to be that sweet-interface between me -- an analogue device -- with an ever increasingly digital world.
