Hi Morgan,
thanks a ton for looking into this. I've taken the opportunity to
reshuffle that section a bit.

If you build the current manual and goto:
[[info:org.info#Beamer specific export settings]]
You'll see something that looks like:
*Note 1:...’ keywords do not apply to ‘ltx-talk’
*Note 2:...’ keywords will be ignored if you set
Instead of what is supposed to be there which would be:
Note 1: Theme-related ‘BEAMER_...’ keywords do not apply to ‘ltx-talk’
and will be ignored.
Note 2: Theme-related ‘BEAMER_...’ keywords will be ignored if you set
This is because the syntax for bold and cross-references overlap. So the
"See 1" is a broken link. Any bold (texinfo calls it "strong") that
starts with the word "Note" is effected.
This is important to us on multiple levels:
1. Our manual is currently broken
2. We have a texinfo exporter that should know of this quirk
There is one pretty big issue though: there is no fix. Texinfo
encourages people to "reword it" so you don't have a bold that starts
"Note". Adding in other random texinfo constructs like @asis doesn't
help. I'm honestly having a hard time believing that there is no way to
have *Note* in an Info file but it really looks like that is the case.
I'd love to hear otherwise.
