Let me re-post Pedro's announcement, so that it is more visible.
Pedro is working on bringing accessible LaTeX export to Org, including
with pdflatex! (lualatex part is easier, especially after Pedro added
org-latex-doc-metadata)

 Dear all,

If I remember correctly, there was some interest in seeing PDF-UA2
generated with pdflatex. I have done some initial testing and it seems
that documents created with the basic article document class can be made
accessible with a combination of DocumentMetadata (which main supports)
 and some extra \tagpdfsetup{} commands.

I'm playing with settings equivalent to those we can use with ltx-talk
 (and lualatex) for presentations[1].

While initially encouraging, I'd need more people willing/needing to
play around to come up with different configurations we can document for
 all to use.

 Thx, /PA
