my tests were in a src block inside the main buffer. like you, i normally edit in an Org Src... buffer. but, it's nice when it basically "works" even in the main buffer (for minor edits, etc.). and, yes, setting org-adapt-indentation to either 'headline-data or nil seems likely to make many of us that much happier. cheers, Greg
